MHA To Host Fun and Games Horse Show

The Mackinac Horsemen's Association will host its annual Fun and Games Horse Show Sunday, August 5, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Mary Milton Memorial Riding Ring at Great Turtle Park. Registration is $1 per class entry and is open to English and Western riders.

This year, a novice class will be offered for those who are less experienced at riding. Novice classes will be strictly walk/trot. The Walk-Trot Tie Race, Egg and Spoon Race, Key Hole Race, and Pole Bending are novice classes.

Riders must wear proper helmet, footwear, and clothing. Whips, crops, or spurs are not allowed in any class. Appropriate bits and tack fittings are a must.

Classes available this year are Tack-Up Race, Catalog Race, Sit-a-Buck, Flag Race, Two Man Relay, and Barrel Race. Riders must provide their own dollar for Sit-a- Buck.
