Guns and Hoses Game Will Be Played Sunday

The Mackinac Island Fire Department will square off against the police department Sunday, August 12, at 6 p.m. for the 6th annual Guns and Hoses benefit baseball game at Great Turtle Park.

The fire department is looking to defend its string of recent success. Last year, the Hoses won 9-5. In 2005, the Hoses pulled off a 14-13 comefrom behind victory.

Several fundraisers are also slated to occur simultaneously with the game. All proceeds will benefit the Mark Gallagher Scholarship Fund, an endowed fund of the Mackinac Island Community Foundation in support of Mackinac Island Public School graduates studying criminal justice.
