Lead Testing Available for EUP Children

Mattel, Inc. has initiated a recall for several toy products manufactured between January 2002 and January 31, 2007. The recalled toys may contain unsafe levels of lead.

Surface paints on the toys could contain lead levels in excess of federal standards. Lead, if ingested, will have adverse health effects, reported the Chippewa County Health Department.

The Chippewa County Health Department is offering a blood lead test for any child who may have been exposed to, or has ingested, lead. The cost is $25 per test. To schedule an appointment, call (906) 635- 3572.
