Thelma Maedel

Frequent Mackinac Island visitor Thelma Maedel of St. Clair passed away at the age of 87 Monday, April 2, 2007. She and her twin daughters, Marilyn and Carolyn, were regular guests at Grand Hotel for almost 20 years and were regular attendees at the Labor Day Jazz Festival.

Mrs. Maedel was born November 30, 1919, in Detroit to Otto and Bessie Sell and was graduated from Grosse Pointe South High School in 1938.

She married Frederick Roy Maedel March 29, 1941, and he died in 1983.

Two sisters, Joyce and Bernice Sell, preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughters and cousins.
