Gallagher Golf Open Raises $4,784

The fifth annual Mark Gallagher Golf Open raised $4,784 for the Mark Gallagher Scholarship Fund endowed by the Mackinac Island Community Foundation.

Sixty-four golfers participated in the Saturday, August 25, event at Wawashkamo Golf Club. Top golfers were Fritz George, Rusty Preston, Mark "Lou" Bunker, and Darcy Brodeur-Bunker.

The Mark Gallagher fund supports scholarships awarded to a Mackinac Island Public School students who want to pursue a career in law enforcement, criminal justice, or another type of service to the Mackinac Island community.
