Bill Liebold Announces Retirement

Bill Liebold, frequent Island visitor and former staffer for Governor James Blanchard, will retire at the end of the year from his post as president of the Michigan Colleges Foundation and will pursue other interests, he has announced.

During his 16 years there, the Foundation has raised more than $32 million, doubling the size of its endowment, and provided scholarships to more than 4,500 students.

Mr. Liebold and his wife, Cam, of Farmington Hills, are regular guests at the Labor Day Jazz Festival.
