Students Hear Program on Bullying
Colton Fisher (left) holds the leash of "Izzy" just before her owner, Gabrelle Ford of Fenton, talks to Island students about bullying. Ms. Ford, who has a neuromuscular disease, was teased and bullied about her symptoms at age 12. Now she travels around the country lecturing students on how bullying hurts. While she has forgiven those who bullied her, she said, she will never forget the pain of being the object of bullies. Often after telling her story, she said, she notices students will apologize to each other. She travels with her dog "Izzy." Pictured (from left) with Mr. Fisher are Jacob Chambers, Anthony Rickley, Ms. Ford, Hailey Bean, and Diana Dupre.
