MICF Fall Grant Applications Deadline To Be November 1

The fall grant program is underway and the Mackinac Island Community Foundation is accepting applications until 4 p.m. Thursday, November 1. Any nonprofit organization can apply for a grant from the foundation.

Grants will be awarded Saturday, December 1, at the Mackinac Island Christmas Bazaar.

A grant writing workshop scheduled for Tuesday, October 9, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. gives applicants the opportunity to receive grant writing advice and assistance, said Jennifer Bloswick, executive director of the Community Foundation. The workshop will be held at the Mackinac Island Community Foundation office in the Twilight Inn on Hoban Street.

The Community Foundation provides grants from earned income on endowed funds. Many of the funds have been created by donors to support programs that include historical writing and preservation, horses, the environment, conservation, health and human services, community arts, and youth.
