Island Races Set for October 27

The Great Turtle Half Marathon and the 5.7 Mile Walk and Run will be Saturday, October 27, on Mackinac Island. Both events begin at 11:30 a.m. and wind through the Island's interior on bicycle trails and roads.

The half marathon begins in front of Mission Point Resort and the 5.7 mile run and walk starts in front of Mission Court. Both courses finish at Mission Point Resort.

More than 1,000 people are expected to participate in the event, said Anne Gault of Gault Race Management of Flushing.

A post-race pasta dinner will take place from 2:15 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Mission Point Resort.

The event is sponsored by Gault Race Management, Riverbend Striders of Flushing, and Mission Point Resort.
