Alexis Cowell

Alexis Marie Cowell, infant daughter of Sara Cowell of Mackinac Island, died following her premature birth at Cheboygan Memorial Hospital Tuesday, September 25, 2007.

She is survived by her mother; her grandparents, Karen and Harry Ortlieb of Martinsburg, New York, great-grandparents Gwen Bagbey of Mackinac Island, and Loren and Annie Cowell of St. Ignace; her great-great grandparents, Caroline and Robert "Porky" LaPine of Mackinac Island, Edna and George Cowell of Manton, Harry Ortlieb, and Shirley Grandjean, both of Martinsburg, and Klara and Herman Ortlieb of Satsumara, Florida, and her extended family.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandfather, Dick Bagbey of Mackinac Island; and her great-great-grandparents, Rita Ortlieb, and Lester Grandjean, both of Martinsburg.

A memorial mass was held at Ste. Anne's Church on Mackinac Island Saturday, September 29, with Father Rey Garcia officiating.

Dodson Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
