Ste. Anne's Picks Raffle Winners Ste. Anne's Church raised $12,000 during its summer raffle to fund maintenance projects at the historic church, including painting the building and repairing the roof. Tickets were sold all summer and the drawing took place October 28, with three prizes awarded. Kelly Jones of Gurnee, Illinois, won the first prize, which included two nights at Grand Hotel, dinner at the Iroquois Hotel, lunch at Horn's Bar, round trip boat tickets from Arnold Transit, private livery tour from Mackinac Island Carriage Tours, a round of putting golf for four people at Mission Point Resort, and two tickets to Fort Mackinac. Second prize of $500 was won by Mary Alexander of Clear Lake, Iowa. Third prize, a girl's Trek mountain bicycle, was won by Janet Scheiwe of Highland. Gary Childs from South Lyon Cycle in South Lyon donated the bicycle for the raffle. The church is now holding its St. Patrick's Day raffle, which has four prizes. The first place winner will receive $5,000, the second and third place prizes are $2,000, and the fourth place prize to be awarded is $1,000. The drawing will be Saturday, March 15, 2008, at Ste. Anne's Parish Hall. Tickets are $100 each and available from Nicole Gugin at Ste. Anne's. The church celebrates Mass at 11 a.m. each Sunday during the winter. |
