Weekend Jazz Festival Will Begin August 28

Dave Brubeck, Branford Marsalis, and Diane Schuur, will join Alex Graham and the Grand Hotel Orchestra at this year's Labor Day Weekend Jazz Festival Thursday, August 28, to Monday, September 1.

Pianist Mr. Brubeck and his quartet in the 1950s and 1960s helped spark an interest in jazz and his album, "Time Out," released in 1959, was the first jazz recording to sell a million copies.

Mr. Marsalis is a two-time Grammy Award-winning saxophonist from New Orleans. He released "Scenes in the City" in 1984, his first album for Columbia Jazz, where his career took off. He has also worked with other musical artists such as The Grateful Dead, Sting, and Bruce Hornsby.

Nicknamed "Deedles," Diane Schuur, a Seattle singer and pianist, has won two Grammy Awards. Twelve of her albums have reached the top 10 jazz albums on Billboard charts, including her latest, "Diana Schuur: Live in London" (2006).

The concerts are held in the Grand Hotel Tea Garden. Tickets are $65 per person for each day and include a buffet picnic lunch.
