Rayment, Bliss Wed

Andrew and Billie Bliss
Billie Rayment and Andrew Bliss, both of Mackinac Island, were married at Ste. Anne's Catholic Church October 6, 2007, in a 2:30 p.m. ceremony with Father Rey Garcia officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Terry and Kelly Rayment of Mackinac Island and was given in matrimony by her father.

She wore a dress of ivory silk overdraped with ivory organza encrusted with crystals. Floor-length organza scarves were attached to each shoulder and a cathedral length lace edged veil adorned her head. She carried a bouquet of burgundy stargazer lilies with cream roses and green ivy.

Tessa Rayment of Chicago served as her sister's maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Jennifer Zeeman, Tabitha Martin, and Amy RaCosta, all of Lapeer, and Gina Polite of Philadelphia. Alexandra Thomas of Lapeer served as the flower girl.

The bride's attendants wore Vera Wang cocktail-length dresses of taupe organza over taupe silk with black grosgrain, ribbon-trimmed empire waists.

The groom is the son of Bert and Diane Bliss of North Branch. His brother, Scott Bliss of Lapeer, served as best man, and groomsmen were Thomas Lilley, Charles Ongena, Brady Hourtienne, and Christopher Kaiser, all of Lapeer.

Ushers were Terrance Rayment, brother of the bride, and Carl Ladd, uncle of the groom, and the ring bearer was Hunter Jacklyn of Lapeer.

The church was decorated with burgundy stargazer lilies and cream roses, with music provided by pianist Lauren Hackborn of Chicago, a cousin of the bride, and vocalist Gina Polite of Philadelphia, a college classmate of the bride.

Scripture was read by the Reverend Kirby Rayment, the bride's uncle, and Tari Hackborn, the brides aunt.

A reception of dinner and dancing for 200 guests was held at Mission Point Resort. The all-local wedding included wedding planner Wendy Nicewander of Mission Point, cake by Annie Lockwood, dress alterations by Julie Rilenge, photography by Island Photo, and flowers by Weber's Florists.

The bride attended Philadelphia University of the Arts and is a singer and songwriter. She has been a server at Seabiscuit Restaurant.

The groom attended Saginaw Valley State University and is an electrician with Island Electric.

He and the bride were high school friends.

Following a wedding trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, the couple has returned home to Mackinac Island.
