"The packed house loved it," said Rich Brauer, owner of the Traverse City-based production company, Brauer Productions, Inc., who wrote the screenplay.

Filmed on Mackinac Island and in Traverse City last September and October, "Mr. Art Critic" included the work of local artists Maeve Croghan, Brian McKelvey, Pam Finkel, Marta Olson, and John Slevin, who appear in the film. Also contributing paintings for the movie were Island artists Richard Wolfgang, Karl Wolfgang, Pat Pulte, and Jennie Ferwerda.

Emmy-nominated comic actor Bronson Pinchot stars in the film as a high profile Chicago art critic, M.J. Clayton, known across the country for his heartless commentaries.

Film producer Mr. Brauer said he plans a screening on the Island this summer.

Tickets are $8 for adults, less for seniors and children. The State Theatre is at 233 East Front Street in Traverse City.
