Demouth Wins Raffle Painting

Robin Demouth of Oakland, California, was the winner of the senior class raffle of a painting by Marta Olson. Mackinac Island Public School's five-member senior class raised $2,800 to help pay for their trip to Puerto Rico May 1 to 7.

The artwork depicts the east shoreline of the Island, just north of Arch Rock. Mrs. Olson donated the painting to the class.

The winning ticket was drawn Friday, March 28.

Teacher Liz Burt and Ken Straight, a student parent, will travel with students Kyle Sweet, Karlena Mosley, Woody Beardsley, Caleb Straight, and Riley Chaffee.
