Olive Archambault

Olive G. Archambault of Kincheloe was a former longtime resident of Mackinac Island and St. Ignace, where she worked at several restaurants, including The Homestead, Cobblestone, Shores Restaurant, and Huron Landing. Her last restaurant job was working for the Sposito family at the Fort Tea Room on Mackinac Island. Most recently, she had been living in Kincheloe with her daughter, Cherryl Baker, and later stayed at Tendercare in Sault Ste. Marie.

Mrs. Archambault died at age 79 Saturday, March 8, 2008, at War Memorial Hospital in Sault Ste. Marie.

She was born on Mackinac Island November 2, 1928, to Oliver and Delia (nee Bazinaw) LaDuke.

She married Lincoln Archambault October 5, 1954, in Moran.

Mrs. Archambault is a former Moose Lodge member, and a Mackinac Island Lioness member. She is a member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians. She loved her family and friends, and enjoyed playing cribbage, Yahtzee, and listing to country music, friends said. One of her favorite pastimes was taking road trips with her good friend, Bud, covering the back roads while searching for wildlife.

She is survived by her only daughter and her family, Cherryl and Larry Baker of Kincheloe; her friend, Bud Bradley of Sault Ste. Marie; a sister, Leona Obeshaw of St. Ignace; a sister-in-law, Gertrude LaDuke of St. Ignace; four grandchildren and their families, Rick and Kathy La- Duke of Kincheloe, Erin and Chris Chambers of Kincheloe, Dani and Phillip Dennay of Brimley, Shaun and Nikki Cowles of Grand Rapidsl, and 10 great-grandchildren, Darcie, Derrick, Katie, Megan, Christopher, Daryn, Raven, Talon, Lyric, and Lincoln.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lincoln, in 1982; a son, Gary, in 1993; three sisters, Minerva Closs, Patricia McCrory, and Vivian Conguy; a brother, Oliver La- Duke; four brothers-in-law, Earl Obeshaw, Vernon McCrory, Ross Closs, and Louis Conguy.

A

memorial mass will be

celebrated Friday, March 14, at 10 a.m. at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church in St. Ignace. Father Allen Mott and Brother John Hascall will officiate.

Spring burial will be in Oaklawn Chapel Gardens in Bruce Township, beside her husband.

Dodson Funeral Home of St. Ignace assisted the family with arrangements.
