Island Is Fortunate To Have Medical Center
To The Editor:

On Sunday evening, June 1, while we were at our house on the East Bluff, my husband, Marty, developed chest pains. I called 911 and he was transferred to the Medical Center, and from there he was flown off the Island and taken to Northern Michigan Regional Hospital.

This whole situation was made easier for us because of everyone we came in contact with that evening: the 911 operator, the EMTs, the whole Medical Center staff, and the pilot. Dr. Karen Miljour was so thorough and made me feel so confident about the whole situation, as did all her staff. Mackinac Island is so fortunate to have a facility such as the Medical Center and to have it staffed with such dedicated people.
