Wawashkamo Battle Day Results

Wawashkamo Golf Club held its annual Battle Day Tournament Saturday, August 2, with 40 players participating. The golfers competed in two flights, men's and ladies, with each flight divided into overall and Callaway divisions, as well as several games on the course. Winners in all divisions were awarded golf course credit.

David Levy and Todd Callewaert took first place with a low score of 67 strokes. They each earned $110. Close behind in second place were Justin Lents and Russ Sager with a score of 71, who each won $80. Rusty Preston and Ron Dufina scored 72 for third place, winning $50 each. Cub Horn and Bob Andress took fourth place, also scoring 72, and took home $35.

In the Men's Callaway Division, Doug Rearick and Tim Livingston won first with a score of 70. Both men won $80. In second place were Ron Steensma and Jeff Lynch, who scored 71 to earn $60 each. Larry Berke and Brian Lents placed third with a score of 71.5, and took home $40. In fourth place were Lou Bunker and Clay Fuller with a score of 72. They each earned $25.

Winners of games on the course for men included Tim Livingston, whose shot was closest to the pin on hole 4. David Levy was closest to the pin on the 17th hole. The team of Justin Lents and Russ Sager won closest to the pin in three shots on the 10th hole.

In the Ladies' Flight, sisters Debra and Sandra Orr took first place with a score of 72 to win $75. In second place with a score of 81 were Syndee Borst and Sue Chambers, who each earned $50.

In the Ladies' Callaway Division, Martha Cousino and Kay Berke took first with a score of 74, and won $50 each. Alice Bloswick and Brenda Bunker came in second, scoring 77, to earn $25.

Martha Cousino was closest to the pin on the eighth hole in the Ladies Division, and the Orr sisters were closest to the 10th pin in three shots.
