20 Couples Take Part in Packard Golf Tourney; Sheppards Take 1st
David and Lin Sheppard were the winners of this year's Packard Golf Tournament Wednesday, September 3, capping off Wawashkamo Golf Course's member mixed events for the season.

The tournament has been held every year since 1971. The winners that year were Bill and Lornie Porter. This year, 20 couples participated in the event.

The Sheppards won the tournament with a score of 40, beating Gary and Martha Cousino and Cub Horn and Sandra Orr, whose teams tied for second place.

There was a two-way tie for third and fourth places, as well. Third place ties included the teams of John Manikoff and Marie Steensma and Lou Bunker and Brenda Bunker. Fourth place ties included the teams Doug Rearick and Debra Orr and Randy and Michelle Stuck.

Results for other men and women's events during the tournament are: closest to the pin, hole 4: Tom Largo, Janet Stingel; longest putt, hole 9: Doug Rearick, Debra Orr.
