Marines Enjoy Mackinac Island's Famous Treat Overseas

Joann's Fudge of Mackinac Island supported troops in Iraq this winter by providing 20 pounds for Lance Corporal Joel Cropsey's Marine Corps unit. Mr. Cropsey is the son of Michigan Senate Majority Floor Leader Alan Cropsey (R-DeWitt), an associate of Island seasonal resident Craig Starkweather, who coordinated with Joann's Fudge to supply the soldiers with the package. When soldiers in his unit found out Mr. Cropsey (second from left) is from Michigan, they asked him to see about getting them a supply of fudge, said Mr. Starkweather.
