Novel Highlights Island, Ice Bridge

The ice bridge between Mackinac Island and St. Ignace is the setting for Kathryn Meyer Griffith's new romantic murder mystery novel, "The Ice Bridge," which was released in paperback in December.

In the book, Charlotte, the main character, returns to the Island to write a book about the Island's ghosts and to visit her Aunt Bessy and a neighbor and friend, Hannah.

When Hannah is missing and it is feared that she fell through the ice on the Straits, Charlotte befriends an Island policeman, Mac, and together they begin to unravel the mystery behind Hannah's disappearance, which they discover was no accident.

Mrs. Griffith began writing short stories 30 years ago and has published 12 novels since 1984.

She and her husband, Russell, live in Columbia, Illinois, and are regular visitors to Mackinac Island. They spent their 25th wedding anniversary on the Island five years ago.
