      Attorneys general and other law folks have had considerable success getting elected governor in Michigan. Among the ex-AGs, there's Democratic Governor Jennifer Granholm, and elected in the 20th century: Republican Governors Alexander Groesbeck (1921-26) and Wilber M. Brucker (1931-32).

NEWS ABOUT PEOPLE ON MACKINAC ISLAND
      It's lilac time on Mackinac. The festivities began Friday afternoon, June 5, with Alex Graham and the Grand Hotel Orchestra playing on Windermere Point. Suddenly, Mother Nature did not cooperate and the rain started to fall, so the coronation of the 2009 Lilac Queen was moved to the front porch of the Windermere Hotel.
