Carriage Driver Injured in Rollover

Carriage driver Ray Miller suffered minor injuries when he was run over by his own rig after his horse was spooked by a dog Wednesday, June 3, at 3:20 p.m.

Mr. Miller's right horse was spooked by an approaching dog while he was turning his carriage around on Mahoney Avenue, he told police. Mr. Miller pulled on his left reins, attempting to move his horse away from the dog, but the tongue of the carriage broke. The carriage subsequently toppled and it was pulled over Mr. Miller.

He was assisted by a bystander and the ambulance crew. He suffered lacerations to the left side of his face and the back of his head, police reported.

Some damage was also done to a fence.
