Reports from the Mackinac Island Police Department for May 27 to June 9:

A call reporting a drunk and disorderly person on Third Street near Cadotte Avenue came in on Thursday, May 28, at 4:52 p.m. A Mackinac Island resident who was standing in the middle of the road became belligerent and started to swear while the police questioned him. He was arrested, placed in a cell, and issued a citation for disorderly person.

A taxi driver was seen turning off of Market Street onto French Lane by a Mackinac Island resident Saturday, May 30, at 9:50 p.m. The resident first told the driver carriages couldn't turn onto French Lane, and then called the police department to report the taxi driver. When the police caught up with the taxi driver and asked about the infraction, the driver claimed a lapse of memory. The driver was issued a citation for violating the ordinance, which carries a fine up to $110 fine.

A 24-year-old St. Ignace resident was fined $110 for urinating in public Sunday, June 7, at 12:15 a.m. The man was seen urinating outside of an off-duty officer's house. The officer reported the incident to the officer on duty.

For these two weeks, there were 31 bike larcenies, three false alarms, and seven assists.
