POLICE REPORTS

Reports from the Mackinac Island Police Department for June 10 to June 16:

A woman living in a Main Street apartment called police after a Mackinac Island man tried to force his way into the apartment building Friday, June 12. After a glass fell from a windowsill in her apartment and into the street, the woman went downstairs and apologized to a man standing on the sidewalk, who was allegedly heavily intoxicated and began swearing and yelling. The woman then returned to the building. The man followed and tried to force his way in, but the woman managed to shut the door. The police questioned the man later at a Main Street restaurant, but the man denied the claims.

A Mackinac Island man complained to police about a large group of people with a fire at British Landing Monday, June 15. The police took the patrol vehicle to the area, but could not find any signs of people or a fire. The man said he had ridden his bike back to the location and found they had left and put out the fire.
