Reports from the Mackinac Island Police Department for the week of June 24 to June 30.

A Grand Rapids man reported a stolen bike seat and seat cover at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, June 24. His bike was parked and locked at the Fort Street bike rack the night before and he discovered the missing items the next morning. The bike seat is estimated at $40 in value and the cover is estimated at $30 in value. Neither item has been recovered.

A large green and blue Vera Bradley purse valued at $130 was reported stolen by a Mackinac Island woman Thursday, June 25. The woman said it was stolen outside a downtown bar.

For the week there were seven assists, one false alarm, and 18 bicycle larcenies.
