Names Sought for Volunteer Award

Nominations for Mackinac Island's Recreation Volunteer of the Year are being accepted until Tuesday, November 24, and may be turned in at Community Hall. The winner is expected to be announced in December.

Applications for nominations are available in the lobby of the city offices on the second floor of Community Hall.

Nominees are judged on their willingness to promote and encourage recreational events, volunteering their time, and showing leadership skills in support of the City of Mackinac Island Recreation programs.

Past recipients include Dennis Bradley, the first winner of the award in 2002, and Dan Wightman (2003), Candy Smith (2004), Brenda Bunker (2005), Sylvia Perault (2006), Mackinac Island Ski Club (2007), and Karen Allen (2008).
