Concerned About Island Changes To the Editor:Many of us, from all over the country, and probably many of the Michigan residents, are concerned and dismayed by what has been appearing in the pages of the last few issues of the Town Crier. We read about changes proposed with respect to parts of historic sites probably impacting the Island's designation.
In this context, I recently was reading a discourse from a noted economist of some time ago, which brought the Island to mind. I thought one of the comments made was appropriate. It goes as follows: "There is a clear distinction between selfinterest and greed. One who wants to make money any way one can, from whomever, as fast as one can, while the getting is good [with no thought to historic preservation], might exhibit greed."
