Mackinac Island resident Mark Bunker heads home past the community Christmas tree in a light snowfall, balancing the family Christmas tree over his shoulder.Transporting the tree from the 4-H lot on Cadotte Avenue is a tradition, he said, although the snow came quickly to the Island this year, leaving him unpreparedwith no sleigh attached to his snowmobile. "It's Mackinac Island and you do what you have to do," said Mr. Bunker. "You don't have snow one minuteand you have two feet the next day." He purchased the tree Saturday afternoon, December 5, as word spread quickly the trees were selling fast. Heading towardthe Mission, he said the seven-foot tree was not all that heavy.
