Charles St. Onge

Charles St. Onge, 84, of Mackinac Island, died Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at Mackinac Straits Hospital Long Term Care.

He was born January 7, 1926, in Detroit to Frank and Doris (nee Francis) St. Onge, longtime residents of Mackinac Island.

Mr. St. Onge worked for Arnold Line, and for the Chapman Carriages before they merged with Carriage Tours. He later worked in motel maintenance. He was a painter on the Island, and he also worked in Arizona as a hotel chauffeur.

He is survived by a stepdaughter, Michelle, of Columbus, Ohio; a brother, Robert St. Onge of St. Ignace, and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Kathy.

Services will be Wednesday, May 26, at 11 a.m. at Ste. Anne’s Church, followed by burial in Ste. Anne’s Cemetery on Mackinac Island.
