Glenn Seven Allen To Present ‘A Sinatra Songbook’ at Grand Hotel


Glenn Seven Allen Glenn Seven Allen Vocalist Glenn Seven Allen will join Alex Graham and the Grand Hotel Orchestra to present “A Sinatra Songbook” at Grand Hotel Theater on Mackinac Island Saturday, July 28, at 9 p.m. The one-hour concert performance will pay homage to the songs of the late solo vocalist Frank Sinatra.

Tickets are $20 per person, or $15 for Grand Hotel guests, and will benefit the Founder’s Scholarship at the Mackinac Island Community Foundation.

Mr. Allen has performed on Broadway, Off-Broadway, and at major theater, concert, and opera venues throughout the United States, including The Kennedy Center, The Lincoln Center, Wharton Center/Lansing Symphony, and Music Hall in Detroit. He has performed with Bleaker Street Opera, the Queens Symphony, Long Island Opera, and New York Lyric Opera, among others. Mr. Allen recently appeared in “A Room With a View” at the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego, California, and also made his role debut as Peter Quint in Benjamin Britten’s “The Turn of the Screw,” for which the New York Times praised his vocal performance as “mesmerizing, singing with a sweetness that grew appropriately cloying and menacing.”

Mr. Allen is a former Mackinac Island East Bluff resident.

Mr. Graham, an alto saxophonist, has been music director at Grand Hotel since 2001. He conducts the Grand Hotel Orchestra and produces the many music concerts and events at the hotel. Mr. Graham has performed with a variety of artists, and has directed jazz bands that have opened up for music greats including Dave Brubeck and the Count Basie Orchestra. Mr. Graham established the Mackinac Jazz Initiative with Eastern Michigan University, where he was a member of the faculty and artist in residence. The initiative brings music students to work and play at Grand Hotel every summer. He is a member of the music faculty at Belmont University.
