Daisy Day Raises $1,171

Daisy Day raised $1,171 Friday, August 15, in sales to support the Stella King scholarship fund.

Sid DeHaan won the 50/50 raffle total of $277, but decided to donate $200 to the fund. Other raffle winners and prizes include Edson Pfeiffelman, music system; Matt Mikus, 12- pack of soda and fudge; Shelly Durbin, lilac basket of goodies; Ellen Putnam, basket of stuffed toys; Dr. Al Sibinic, blanket; Starr Clark, crochet carrying bag; Madison Gamble, child’s tote bag; Nicholas Davis, shipping boxes; Gwen Bagbey, pitcher and fudge; Peggy Cowell, lilac tea cup; Jack Dehring, Troy Horlett, Chad Fraker, and Daine Herold won fudge.

Volunteer Barb Fisher said the event received excellent support from residents, summer residents, and employees of the Island, and volunteers often heard stories of the past Daisy Days hosted by the late Stella King, a nurse on Mackinac Island, to raise funds for the Medical Center.
