Coverage of Mackinac Island Is Exceptional
To the Editor:
Regarding the December 15, 2012, Town Crier, thanks for what surely must be one of your most extraordinary issues in your publishing history, for four special or continuing reasons.
First, your page one photograph, highlighting the Island’s winter wonderland beauty, with the special Island home and snowmobile in the Market Street foreground, and with the Great Lakes freighter in Lake Huron dominant in the background, was all but spellbinding.
Second, what extraordinary broad and useful community coverage you provide, especially for us interested in the Island, thanks to Jeannette’s legendary column.
Third, your annual Island school class photos, helping to present all our students and their teachers to our community. What a useful service you provide with these annual photos, reflecting student aging over all their school years leading to high school graduation.
Fourth, more of your exceptional coverage and credible writing covering so many diverse and significant Island news developments and issues, city and park governance, and other areas of ongoing interest to your readers on the Island and throughout our country. Your regular columnists and your coverage of historic districts, City Council matters, proposed Island building, and Island events, arts, and history are especially useful and appreciated.
