Milton ‘Milt’ Bazinau


Milton ‘Milt’ Bazinau Milton ‘Milt’ Bazinau Milton H. “Milt” Bazinau, Sr., 69, of Fremont, passed away Monday morning, December 31, 2012, at his home.

He was born July 5, 1943, on Mackinac Island, to James and Caroline (nee St. Onge) Bazinau, and after his father passed away he was reared by Robert LaPine.

Mr. Bazinau was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam era, and a self-employed carpenter.

He was a member of the St. Ignace VFW Post, and he loved fishing, hunting, and going to Florida.

He married Rosanne “Rose” Thenikl June 2, 1976.

Mr. Bazinau is survived by his wife and nine children and their families, Bernadine Bazinau, Tammy Fagan, Milt Bazinau Jr., Mary Anne and Martin Bolthouse, Stephanie Strong and Rich Deater, Heather Bazinau, Robert and Kim Bazinau, Jaysen Bazinau, David and Tamara Bazinau; 18 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren; his parents, Robert and Caroline LaPine; one brother, Dwight LaPine; and two sisters, Gwen Bagbey and Millie Henry. He is survived also by his mother-in-law, Nellie Thenikl, and sisters-in-law and brothersin law, Lorraine Thenikl, Larry and Linda Thenikl, Dan and Marlene Brooks, Bill and Barb Thenikl, Dennis and Karen Hack Thenikl, and Don and Kathy Vanderwall.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Randy and Wally Bazinau.

There will be no visitation. A Memorial Mass was held Monday morning, January 7, , at All Saints Catholic Church in Fremont with Fr. Peter Omogo as celebrant. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the family to help with expenses.

Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home of Fremont assisted the family with arrangements.
