School Start Is Cause for Celebration



Elementary students march behind Fort Mackinac historical interpreter Andrew Warren on the first day of school Tuesday, September 3, part of Mackinac Island Public School’s annual celebration marking the beginning of a new school year. Mr. Warren led students out the school’s front doors onto the street and through the schoolyard before treating them to fife playing as they got in line for food at a community picnic.
