The Chippewa Comes Ashore at Straits Dock

Arnold Transit Company’s Chippewa makes its way to the Straits Dock near the east breakwall (left) on Mackinac Island Monday morning, May 19, to unload passengers. Arnold Line is using the Straits Dock for passenger service this year, instead of the Main Dock downtown. The company is also conducting its freight business using two boats, landing at the Coal Dock. In addition to the Chippewa running out of Mackinaw City, the Huron transports passengers from St. Ignace.
