Damaged Line Causes Power Outage June 6

The power went out on the east end of Mackinac Island Friday, June 6, because of a damaged underground service cable. The outage affected about 350 services on the Island from downtown east to Truscott Street.

The outage occurred at 10:50 a.m., and Cloverland Electric Cooperative crews discovered the damaged underground line between Fort Mackinac and Father Marquette Park.

Crews rerouted the power to restore services by 2:30 p.m. Friday.

More extensive repairs were made Saturday, June 7.
