Daniel Seeley Daniel Seeley Daniel W. Seeley, 60, of Mackinac Island, passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2014, on Mackinac Island.

He was born July 9, 1954, in Litchfield.

Mr. Seeley was a teacher at the Mackinac Island Public School for more than 30 years, and through his teaching and volunteering, he touched many lives.

He was active with the Mackinac Island Fire Department and EMS.

He is survived by three brothers and their families, Jay and Mary Hawley, Marc Hawley, and Timothy Hawley; a sister-in-law, Karen Seeley; three nieces and their families, Amy and Travis Peck, Cheyanna Hawley, and Elizabeth Hawley; two nephews and their families, Ryan and Tara Seeley and Charles Hawley, and six great-nieces and greatnephews. He is also survived by longtime friends Alice and Trish Martin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ardith Hawley; a brother, David Seeley; a nephew, Ian Hawley, and his grandparents.

Services were Tuesday, August 26, at 2 p.m. at Ste. Anne’s Catholic Church on Mackinac Island. Visitation was Monday, August 25, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church on Mackinac Island with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Mackinac Island Fire Department or Trinity Episcopal Church.

Dodson Funeral Home of St. Ignace assisted the family with arrangements.
