Rose Kerr

St. Ignace resident Rose Mary Kerr passed away Sunday, March 19, 2017, at Hospice of the EUP in Sault Ste. Marie, with her three children present. She was 62.

She was born December 17, 1954, to Francis “Pat” Andress and Mary Cadotte on Mackinac Island.

Ms. Kerr was a member of both the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians and Mackinac Bands of Chippewa and Ottawa Indians.

She was employed by Kewadin Shores Casino in St. Ignace for 10 years.

Ms. Kerr enjoyed spending time with her family, whether with a game of Yahtzee or playing cards. She also enjoyed spending time at the casino with friends and family.

She is survived by three children and their families, Anthony and Elaine Kerr of St. Ignace, Michelle and Jim Gill of Forest Hill, West Virginia, and Krystle and Leroy Noller of Clarkston; 11 grandchildren, and five greatgrandchildren. She is also survived by her partner of 30 years, Tommy Moody; six brothers; one sister, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a niece, Ruby (nee Foster) Smith, and two maternal aunts, Teresa Howell and Francis Bazinaw.

No services will be held. A gathering and burial service will be held this summer, with the details to be announced later.

Dodson Funeral Home of St. Ignace assisted the family with arrangements.
