Sports Car Show, Craft Fair Set for Mackinaw City This Weekend

Corvette Show

The Chevrolet Corvette sports car will be Saturday, August 26, in Mackinaw City. The show includes both a large display of Corvettes in the parking lot of the Mackinaw Crossings mall and a parade across the Mackinac Bridge to St. Ignace. Admission to the show is free.

The main display of Corvettes will be Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The show will be capped off by an awards ceremony at 3 p.m., followed by a dinner break before the bridge parade. All of the Corvettes will line up for the parade in the Crossings parking lot at 6 p.m. before heading to the Mackinac Bridge and across into the Upper Peninsula at 7 p.m.

This year’s show is expected to include more than 200 Corvettes covering the whole spectrum from classic to showroom fresh models.

The bridge parade is free for all registered Corvette owners, and non-show participants can also join the procession with their Chevrolets sports cars if they pay $5. Once the Corvettes reach St. Ignace, they are free to return to Mackinaw City at their leisure. There is no formal programing after the parade in either city.

The Mackinaw City Premier Arts and Crafts Show will take place in Conkling Heritage Park on South Huron Avenue in Mackinaw City Saturday, August 26, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday, August 27, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
