‘Good Form’ Running, Walking Clinics Will Be Held Saturday

The Mackinac Island Recreation Department is hosting Good Form Running and Good Form Walking programs at Mackinac Island Public School Saturday, April 7, at 9 a.m. Curt Munson, co-founder of the program, will lead the clinic along with his wife, Judy. The Good Form Running program teaches a technique that emphasizes an easier and healthier style of running, which should increase a runner’s overall speed. Both sections are taught using three steps, and for the running portion, it is “posture, landing, and lean.”

The Good Form Walking program is intended to improve an individual’s walking stride to prevent injury. The form should also allow people to move more efficiently and find more enjoyment in walking.

The programs are free, and no registration is needed. Participants should come dressed for exercise, including athletic shoes.

The program was developed by Mr. Munson in concert with his business partner and Olympic runner Grant Robison.
