NEWS ABOUT PEOPLE ON MACKINAC ISLAND

BY MARGARET DOUD

The weather has been absolutely beautiful, with sunny, warm days and clear nights. It was a great meteor show Saturday and Sunday night at Fort Holmes. The harbor has been busy with many boats, including the State of Michigan, Victory I, and Grande Mariner. They are beautiful vessels and it’s nice to see them tied up at Mackinac. The flowers all over the Island are really blooming, especially the black-eyed Susans and hydrangeas. This year we have so many beautiful monarch butterflies. It’s a great time of the year to visit Mackinac Island.
