Body Recovered in Lake Huron Identified as Pilot

A pilot, Ronald Dague, 64, of East Troy, Wisconsin, has been identified as the person whose body was found along the shore of Lake Huron in Evergreen Shores in St. Ignace Township Monday evening, September 17, according to the Mackinac County Sheriff’s Office.

Mr. Dague died in a plane crash that occurred Friday, August 31. He was the pilot and the only person aboard the single-engine Piper Lance when it went down in Horseshoe Bay at about 9:49 p.m., just after taking off from the Mackinac County Airport en route to Mackinac Island.

The National Transportation Safety Board is still investigating the cause of the plane crash.
