Mary Siders

Mary Siders Mary Siders Mary Christine Siders, 68, of St. Ignace, passed away Sunday morning, September 30, 2018, at Castle Rock Retirement Center in St. Ignace, following a lingering illness.

She was born December 16, 1949, to Charles Cadreau and Ruby (nee Perault) Andress on Mackinac Island.

Ms. Siders lived and worked on Mackinac Island for many years, and she worked at Cindy’s Riding Stable at one time.

She moved to St. Ignace approximately 25 years ago, and she worked at many restaurants, including Clyde’s, the Truck Stop Restaurant, and Kewadin Casino.

Ms. Siders was an elder in the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians.

She is survived by a brother and his family, Carl and Cora Andress of Hessel, and many nieces and nephews, including Carol Ruddle of Mackinac Island and Leslye Atkins of Barbeau.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Shannon Marie Siders, who died in July 1989; five siblings, Francis “Pat” Andress, Joe Andress, Barbara Chambers, Leslie “Butch” Andress, and Donald “Duck” Andress, and her soulmate, Calanan “Cal” Dennis, who died August 7, 2018.

Interment will be at Ste. Anne’s Cemetery on Mackinac Island Saturday, October 27, with traditional Native American services. A gathering will follow at the Community Hall on Mackinac Island.

Dodson Funeral Home of St. Ignace is assisting the family with arrangements.
