Pamela St. Onge


Pamela St. Onge Pamela St. Onge Pamela Sue St. Onge, 65, of St. Ignace, formerly of Mackinac Island, passed away early Friday, November 23, 2018, at War Memorial Hospital in Sault Ste. Marie.

She was born July 21, 1953, to Francis, Jr. and Amanda (nee La- Pine) St. Onge in Sault Ste. Marie.

Ms. St. Onge spent much of her life on Mackinac Island, where she was a special education student. She moved to St. Ignace to be closer to her doctors and dialysis.

She was a member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians.

Ms. St. Onge loved animals. She also loved watching her nieces and nephews grow up.

She is survived by her stepmother, Betty St. Onge of St. Ignace; siblings and their families, Glenn and Deana St. Onge of Remus, Frank and Bonnie St. Onge of East Jordan, Joseph and Christi St. Onge of St. Ignace, Mary and Mike Cope, also of St. Ignace, Marilyn and Mike Wakefield of Boyne City, Ida French and Kevin of Onaway, and Dolores and Joel Raville of Bay Harbor, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Francis St. Onge, Jr.; her mother, Amanda St. Onge, and two sisters, Gloria Borland and Doris Buchannon.

A memorial service will be held in May at Ste. Anne’s Catholic Church on Mackinac Island with Father Jim Williams officiating.

Burial will be in Ste. Anne’s Cemetery on Mackinac Island.

Dodson Funeral Home of St. Ignace assisted the family with arrangements.
